Message from the Board
Happy Summertime, Everyone!
As they say, all good things must come to an end, and for me, that means my time serving as your STLPA President is coming to a close. I want to sincerely thank each and every one of our members for giving me the opportunity to serve in this role over the past year. It has been an incredible experience—one filled with growth, challenges, learning opportunities, and so many wonderful memories.
I would also like to give a huge shout-out to my Board of Directors—JP, Alex, Mary, Parris, Marie, and Rose—as well as our committee chairs. Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and support throughout the year. Your efforts never went unnoticed, and STLPA is stronger because of each of you. I look forward to watching you continue to grow and lead within the association.
I hope everyone who attended our 49th Annual Paralegal Day – The Pursuit of Truth and Justice enjoyed it as much as I did. From hearing Jonathan Potts share his powerful story about the fight to prove Marcellus Williams' innocence and uncover the truth, to connecting with our outstanding business partners and vendors, networking with fellow paralegals, and winning some fantastic prizes, it truly was a day worth celebrating. Events like these remind us why we are proud to be paralegals.
We also had a fantastic turnout at our summer event at Edison’s. Between the great food, music, games, bowling, and networking, it was a wonderful afternoon spent with friends, colleagues, and family. One of my favorite parts was catching up with so many of you and watching our children enjoy the day together. Katie Hubbard's music was the perfect addition to the event, and she was such a hit that we're already looking for another opportunity to have her perform for STLPA!
Our June membership meeting will be held at Brown & Crouppen on June 25, 2026, and will feature an informative CLE presentation, More Than Just Work Comp: Identifying and Managing Overlapping Claims in Workers’ Compensation Files. Be sure to register and join us for what promises to be an excellent discussion and learning opportunity.
As I wrap up my term as President, I want to thank all of you once again for your support, friendship, and commitment to STLPA. Serving this organization has been an honor, and I am excited to see all the great things ahead for our association.
Wishing everyone a safe, fun, and relaxing summer!
Best,
Ashley Milam
